2026 – present · Planswell, now FUTR

AI Caller

I built a real-time AI calling system that talks with prospective financial-planning clients, and it now makes calls every day. The challenge was making it responsive and natural while handling the realities of phone calls: interruptions, background noise, voicemail, ambiguous answers and unreliable outside services.

It runs on a streaming voice pipeline: an Elixir service handles call control, and a Python worker combines speech recognition, language models and speech synthesis over live Twilio audio. Speculative response preparation, reusable audio and compact conversation memory keep waits short. Interruption handling tells speech apart from noise and speakerphone echo, lowers playback while it checks, and stops talking at a word boundary.

Guardrails respect contact preferences, prevent duplicate calls and won’t record a booking unless the conversation actually supports it. Simulated conversations test the dialogue without placing a call.

FUTR Advisor Agent

Financial advisors need help understanding client plans and staying on top of follow-up work, without losing control of the decisions that matter. I built an AI assistant that brings those workflows together through two coordinated specialists: one for financial plans and one for client relationships.

Built across a React interface and an Elixir back end, it routes each request to the right specialist, retrieves approved guidance, and grounds its answers in real plan and CRM data. Advisors can ask questions, prepare for calls, find records, and make supported changes through the app’s existing controls.

The hardest part was making streaming responses compatible with trustworthy actions. Proposed commands and references are validated before any streamed text is released, checked again against the actions the interface allows, and confirmed by the advisor, with an audit trail throughout. Repeatable model evaluations keep it honest as models change.

InteliChek

InteliChek provides Fortune 100 automotive-industry clients across the United States and Canada with a suite of market-intelligence products and services. As a fully virtual company, it runs on an expansive suite of custom web apps: data collection from a range of sources, delivery of finalized data and reports to client end users, and administration of every major business operation.

InteliChek integrates directly with enterprise client systems through SSO, automated data exchange and purpose-built, client-specific enhancements. I managed and oversaw all of its IT operations and development.

Blitzify

Blitzify is InteliChek’s consumer-facing arm. Its scalable web and mobile apps give everyday drivers information about automotive services, from what a service involves to the locations, hours and reviews of local providers. Most importantly, it shows local pricing for a service on a specific vehicle, with direct quotes from competing providers, so drivers can quickly find the right shop.

I joined the Blitzify team during early development to bring it to market readiness quickly, then took on full oversight of its IT operations and development.

2011 – 2012 · E-By Design Technologies

Chrono Logik

A research project funded through Canada’s NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program, Chrono Logik was a plugin for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 that added entity-centric time-context features. It let Dynamics automatically and safely retain historical data, capturing every change across an entity’s lifetime and providing an authoritative state history for full reconstruction. A custom timeline widget visualized an entity’s previous states right in the Dynamics UI.

Besides being the principal developer, I created marketing materials and deliverables for the NRC IRAP.

2009 – 2012 · PC New LLC

PC New

PC New started as an in-house utility for automating basic PC maintenance at a Texas repair shop and grew into a retail product. A Linux-based live CD would negotiate a network connection over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, fetch updates, run third-party antivirus scans against the host file system, quarantine or heal infections, and then stage a custom Windows utility that carried out further automated maintenance.

I oversaw PC New from start to finish, including the web services behind registration, billing and update control.

Kerbal Multi Player & Build Fly Dream

In my spare time I built the first working multiplayer mod for Kerbal Space Program, solving the tricky problem of letting players share one physics-driven universe while warping time independently. Separately, my fan trailer Build Fly Dream went viral and later inspired the official KSP 2 announcement trailer.
