This is me.

A brief introduction

I live in Edmonton AB (that's in Canada) with my loving wife and ever-inquisitive toddler daughter. We have a dog named Roxy and a cat named Peridot. I love to ski, but I can certainly enjoy a good bike ride too. I like Star Trek more than Star Wars, but I've got enough room in my heart for both (and really any sci-fi — The Expanse is amazing). My first computer was an IBM PC AT clone whose amber glow & buckling-spring keys were mesmerizing to a 2-year-old in 1988. My first video game console was a Mattel Intellivision, & my second was a Sony Playstation 2. I prefer my coffees blonde & my beers hoppy, I like to edit videos (just for fun), I'm not the worst cook, I've been writing software since elementary school, Daniel Ricciardo is my favourite F1 driver, I think anything vaguely involving spaceflight is neat, and I don't get to play as many video games these days as I used to.

A few things I've made

On the off-chance you'd heard of me before visiting my site, chances are it was because of my contributions to spaceflight fan communities, and particularly those for a popular videogame called Kerbal Space Program. A fan video I created in my spare time called “Build Fly Dream” went viral, and contributed enough to KSP's early success that I was thanked in the official announcement trailer for Kerbal Space Program 2, itself an homage to my original video. I also independently developed the first working multiplayer mod for KSP, Kerbal Multi Player, which realized a gameplay experience that until then was sometimes said to be technically impossible to achieve. KMP enjoyed considerable development support from the wider KSP community, and its successors are still popular today. I never stop making new things, whether it's small programming challenges just for the fun of it, video edits about space or skiing, or even just a carved pumpkin. I have no doubt that this relentless drive for making is an intrinsic component of my professional success.
